Terms of Service
January 1, 2024
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of MONOLITH RECORD ("Service"). By using the Service, you ("User") agree to these Terms.
Article 1 (Service Overview)
The Service is a participatory web service where users pay any amount they choose and their cumulative total is reflected in an all-time site ranking. Participation in the ranking requires login via an X account.
Article 2 (Rankings and Value)
Rankings are determined by the cumulative total of confirmed payments. Ranking positions, displays, and permanent achievements do not carry any financial or monetary value. Users do not make payments on the premise that rankings or displays hold economic value.
Article 3 (X Integration)
Participation in the Service requires login via an X account. X user ID, username, display name, and other data obtained through X integration are used for ranking display and internal identification. X integration provides a degree of identity verification but does not guarantee complete authenticity.
Article 4 (Payments)
Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout. The currency is fixed to Japanese Yen (JPY). The minimum amount is ¥100 and the maximum is ¥99,999,999. Only confirmed payments are reflected in the ranking. Payment confirmation is handled via webhook and may be subject to a short delay.
Article 5 (Monthly Rankings)
Each month's ranking covers payments confirmed by 23:59:59 JST on the last day of that month. The timestamp used is the payment confirmation time, not the initiation time. Monthly rankings are generally not modified after they are finalized.
Article 6 (Permanent Achievements)
Permanent achievements are awarded only when predefined conditions are met. They are not awarded at the operator's arbitrary discretion. Permanent achievements are expressions of ongoing record value on the Service and do not legally or technically guarantee indefinite storage, perpetual display, complete availability, or immutability.
Article 7 (Refunds, Disputes, and Chargebacks)
Refunds at user request are not available as a general rule. Temporary ranking display and history reflection are included in the value provided. Only clear system errors such as duplicate charges will be handled individually. If a refund or dispute occurs, the relevant payment will be excluded from the ranking. Chargeback wins (chargeback_won) will result in reinstatement. Dispute fees are treated as operating costs and are not reflected in ranking amounts.
Article 8 (Prohibited Acts and Misuse)
The following are prohibited: fraudulent payments, automated actions by bots, participation intended to harass others, false declarations, and any act that interferes with the normal operation of the Service. Violations may result in suspension or removal without prior notice.
Article 9 (Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination)
The operator may change, add, suspend, or terminate service content, ranking specifications, history pages, permanent achievements, translations, display formats, payment methods, and other specifications as needed. The operator may temporarily suspend, restrict, unpublish, modify, or delete rankings, history, and permanent achievement displays due to legal compliance requirements, external service changes, system failures, maintenance, security responses, economic decisions, or operational needs. The operator will endeavor to retain and continue displaying past data to the extent possible, but does not guarantee permanent storage, continuous publication, completeness, availability, or immutability. Upon service termination, the operator is not obligated to continue publishing data. If external services such as Stripe, X, Supabase, Vercel, or Cloudflare change, suspend, or fail, part or all of the Service may become unable to continue. Users do not make payments on the premise that rankings, history, or permanent achievements will continue to be displayed indefinitely. Even if service content, display content, publication methods, or publication periods change after payment, refund claims cannot be made based solely on such changes.
Article 10 (Disclaimer)
Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the Service. The operator is also not liable, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, for damages caused by failures of external services, natural disasters, or other events beyond the operator's reasonable control.
Article 11 (Minors)
Minors using the Service must have parental or guardian consent. If a minor uses the Service without such consent, it may be treated as if consent was obtained.
Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location as the court of first instance.
