Terms of Service
Established May 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of MONOLITH RECORD ("Service"). By using the Service, you ("User") agree to these Terms.
Article 1 (Service Overview)
The Service is a participatory web service where users pay any amount of their choosing and may participate in the all-time ranking, monthly rankings, history display, achievement display, and other record displays defined by the Service. Login via an X account is required to participate in the ranking and to use other principal features of the Service.
Article 2 (Rankings, Displays, and Value)
1. Rankings on the Service are determined by the cumulative total of confirmed payments and other criteria defined by the Service. 2. Rankings, displays, achievements, titles, history, participation records, and all other displays on the Service do not hold any financial value, monetary convertibility, right to refund, investment value, asset value, or any other legal or economic value. 3. Users do not make payments on the premise that rankings, displays, history, achievements, titles, or any other records on the Service hold economic value.
Article 3 (X Integration and Unofficial Nature)
1. Participation in the Service requires login via an X account. 2. The Service is not an official service provided, endorsed, operated, or guaranteed by X Corp. or its affiliates. 3. Information obtained through X integration — including X user ID, username, display name, profile image, and other information necessary for operation of the Service — is used for ranking display, achievement display, history display, profile display, internal identification, identity verification assistance, and operation of the Service. 4. X integration provides a degree of identity verification but does not fully guarantee authenticity, continuity, completeness, or the absence of third-party use.
Article 4 (Consent to Display of Information)
1. By logging in to the Service with an X account and participating, Users consent to the operator displaying the following information on the Service or using it for the operation of the Service: (1) X username (2) Display name (3) Profile image (4) Rankings, achievements, history, titles, participation records, and other information necessary for display on the Service (5) Public links associated with the foregoing, internal identifiers, and other information necessary for the operation of the Service 2. The content, scope, order, format, publication period, and whether translation is applied to the information referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be determined in accordance with the Service specifications and the operator's reasonable discretion. 3. Users understand and agree that the display of information set forth in the preceding paragraphs constitutes part of the Service provided.
Article 5 (Payments)
1. Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout or other payment methods designated by the operator. 2. The currency is fixed to Japanese Yen (JPY). 3. The minimum amount is ¥100 and the maximum is ¥99,999,999. 4. Only confirmed payments are reflected in the ranking and other records on the Service. 5. Payment confirmation is handled via webhook or other methods determined by the operator and may be subject to a short delay. 6. Users must review these Terms, the Specified Commercial Transaction Act disclosure, the refund policy, and other important information presented by the operator before making a payment.
Article 6 (Monthly Rankings)
1. Each month's ranking covers payments confirmed by 23:59:59 JST on the last day of that month. 2. The timestamp used is the payment confirmation time, not the payment initiation time. 3. Monthly rankings are generally not modified after they are finalized. Exceptions apply in cases of legal compliance requirements, clear calculation errors, critical bugs, dispute/refund/chargeback processing, or other reasonable grounds.
Article 7 (Permanent Achievements and Titles)
1. Permanent achievements are awarded only when predefined conditions are met. 2. Achievements fall into two categories: those newly granted upon payment confirmation, and those subject to revocation or reinstatement based on changes in payment validity, such as refunds, disputes, or chargebacks. 3. Manually granted achievements, bid-count achievements, and any other achievements separately designated by the operator may be treated as exempt from the revocation and reinstatement re-evaluation described in the preceding paragraph. 4. Permanent achievements represent ongoing records on the Service and do not legally or technically guarantee indefinite storage, perpetual display, complete availability, immutability, or permanence. 5. Among fixed permanent achievements, first-come-first-served achievements cannot be obtained once another user has already unlocked them. 6. Variable titles and other achievements separately defined by the operator are not subject to the preceding paragraph and may change depending on whether conditions are met. 7. The names, conditions, display methods, visibility scope, and unlock methods of achievements and titles may be changed as part of the Service specifications in the future.
Article 8 (Refunds, Disputes, and Chargebacks)
1. Refunds at User request are not available as a general rule. 2. Rankings, history, achievements, titles, and other participation records displayed — whether temporarily or continuously — after payment is completed also form part of the Service provided. 3. Only clear system errors such as duplicate charges will be handled individually by the operator. 4. If a refund, dispute, or chargeback occurs, the operator may exclude, deduct, or remove the relevant payment from rankings and other records on the Service, and may accordingly modify, revoke, or recalculate any affected ranking positions, king status, achievements, and other displays. 5. In cases where a chargeback or dispute is resolved in favor of the Service, or in other cases the operator deems appropriate, the relevant payment may be reinstated, with ranking positions, king status, achievements, and other displays restored or recalculated as appropriate. 6. Dispute fees and other costs incurred by payment processors are not reflected in ranking amounts.
Article 9 (Prohibited Acts and Misuse)
Users must not engage in the following: (1) Fraudulent payments, impersonation, or unauthorized use of another person's payment method (2) Unauthorized use through bots or other automated means (3) Participation intended to harass, defame, threaten, or cause a nuisance to others (4) False declarations or any act that interferes with the normal operation of the Service (5) Acts that violate laws, public order, or these Terms (6) Acts that infringe on the rights or interests of the operator or third parties If a violation is found, the operator may take necessary measures without prior notice, including suspension of use, display restrictions, removal, or revocation of achievements.
Article 10 (Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination)
1. The operator may change, add, suspend, or terminate service content, ranking specifications, history pages, permanent achievements, titles, translations, display formats, payment methods, integrated services, and other specifications as needed. 2. The operator may temporarily suspend, restrict, unpublish, modify, or delete rankings, history, permanent achievements, and other displays for reasons including legal compliance, external service changes, system failures, maintenance, security responses, economic decisions, or operational needs. 3. The operator will endeavor to retain and continue displaying past data to the extent possible, but does not guarantee permanent storage, continuous publication, completeness, availability, or immutability. 4. Upon service termination, the operator is not obligated to continue publishing data. 5. If external services such as Stripe, X, Supabase, Vercel, or Cloudflare change, suspend, or fail, part or all of the Service may become unable to continue. 6. Users do not make payments on the premise that rankings, history, permanent achievements, or other displays will continue indefinitely. 7. Even if service content, display content, publication methods, or publication periods change after payment, refund claims cannot be made based solely on such changes.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
1. Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the Service. 2. The operator is also not liable, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, for damages caused by failures of external services, communication failures, natural disasters, legal amendments, or other events beyond the operator's reasonable control. 3. The operator makes no warranties beyond what is required by law regarding displays, rankings, history, achievements, titles, continued provision, or continuity of external integrations on the Service.
Article 12 (Minors)
Minors using the Service must have the consent of a parent, guardian, or other legal representative. If a minor uses the Service, it may be treated as if such consent was obtained.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location as the court of first instance. Supplementary Provision These Terms take effect as of May 1, 2026.
